The evening usually goes like this. Someone recommends a film, you go looking for it, and you bounce between four apps only to be told it is not available in your country. Then you spend twenty minutes scrolling and give up. FlixFinder exists to end that particular ritual: search once, and it tells you exactly which platform has the thing you want, in your country and in more than 130 others.

JellyAmp: Your Own Music Library, on Every Screen

Plenty of us have gone to the trouble of keeping our own music collection on our own server, and then spent years putting up with a player that treats it like an afterthought. That was the itch behind JellyAmp: a proper native player for a Jellyfin music server, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Android, that feels like it belongs on the device you are holding.

It does the things you would expect a music app to do, and it does them well. Your artists, albums, playlists and songs laid out art first, search that answers before you finish typing, a real now playing screen with queue management, scrubbing, synced lyrics and AirPlay 2, and background playback that keeps going when the screen is off. You can download whole albums or single tracks for offline listening, so your commute does not depend on your server being reachable. There is CarPlay on iPhone and Android Auto on Android, ten colour themes in light or dark, and if you point it at an Audiobookshelf server your audiobooks sit right alongside the music with chapters and synced progress.

Dopi: Earn Your Screen Time

Every screen time tool I tried had the same hole in it. The limit pops up, you tap “Ignore Limit”, and you are back in the feed two seconds later. Nothing actually changed, except that now you feel slightly worse about it. So I built Dopi, an iPhone and Apple Watch app that replaces that one meaningless tap with something you have to genuinely do.

How Dopi works

The idea is simple. You pick the apps, categories and websites you open without thinking, and Dopi shields them. When you want them back, you earn them: a set of camera counted squats, a box breathing session, a glass of water logged, a quick bit of mental maths, or an honest sentence or two in a journal. Finish it and your apps unlock for a window of time. Let the window run out and the shield comes back on its own. There is no honour system anywhere in it, because the challenges are actually validated on your device, and nothing you do leaves your phone.
